📝 : I got this from my Mom for my 22th birthday. Of all the How To Train Your Dragon games that have come out, this one is the less boring and repetitive, but I'm sad we can't control Hiccup or Toothless. I liked the fact that the game is a mix of battles and explorations with simple riddles. The story is really good in my opinions and I love to see dragons from the third movie or links to the other movies, like the mention of Drago Bludvist. Considering that the game has opted for animation style graphics and not realistic graphics, they are pretty beautiful. However, I don't like the fact that the camera is placed almost above the characters. I would rather see the characters from the front and be able to control the angles of the camera as I wanted. Also, if the purpose on each island is always the same (explore it to arrive in its ruins where we have to defeat the boss), it's a nice thing that the riddles on each island are different. The biggest defeat of the game according to me is that its potential of gameplay was a little wasted. In other words, the game is pretty far from meeting my expectations, probably because it doesn't reach the other gaming experiences I'm used to, like The Legend of Zelda or Final Fantasy. I like to collect items, battle ennemies and be confronted to riddles in games ! DreamWorks Dragons : Dawn of New Riders would have been better if they include some elements we were able to do in ghe previous How To Train Your Dragon games. For example, it's nice that we can fly from islands to islands, but it gets boring over time because there are no dragon riders to fight and no objects to collect. When we are on the islands, it's the same thing : there are no collectibles items to discover. If we can find chests on the islands, it remains that their content is always the same : plants or metals to improve our weapons. In other words, ot would have been more nice to search for items almost everywhere and battle more frequently ennemies !
